Dental Fillings

Do You Need a Filling?

If you’re suffering from tooth decay or have a chipped or cracked tooth, you’re not alone! Nearly 90% of adults will need a filling at some point in their lives.

If left untreated, a cavity or damaged tooth may become severely infected and painful. A filling is a simple restoration designed to eliminate pain, remove decay, and make your tooth as good as new again.  Your filling will look and function just like a natural tooth.

You might have a cavity if…

The key to treating a cavity is early detection. In addition to regular dental checkups and exams, be on the lookout for symptoms like:

  • Teeth that are sensitive to hot and cold
  • Pain when biting or chewing
  • Soreness on one side of the mouth

Be aware: Many cavities present no symptoms at all. They can only be diagnosed during your dental checkup.

The earlier a cavity is found and fixed, the smaller the filling will be! We use dental x-rays and other diagnostic tools to identify cavities in their earliest stages.
