Teeth Whitening

If You’re Suffering from Stained Teeth, You’re Not Alone.  Although some tooth staining can be prevented with lifestyle changes (like avoiding cigarettes and highly pigmented foods), tooth discoloration is also simply part of the natural aging process. It can also be the result of certain antibiotics or your unique genetic makeup.  The result is roughly 80% of Americans who are dealing with tooth discoloration and wish they had whiter teeth.

Zoom® Teeth Whitening

We’re proud to offer advanced Zoom® teeth whitening treatments to help you get the best results, fast.  This whitening procedure involves applying a professional whitening gel to each tooth. The gel is then activated by a laser. The heat generated by the laser helps break up tough and deeply set stains, enhancing the whitening effect and speeding up the process.

You’ll see an immediate improvement in your smile! However, depending on your level of staining, you may require a couple treatments to reach your desired shade.

We’ll discuss all of this during your whitening consultation, answering your questions and ensuring you understand the process.

Take-Home Teeth Whitening

ClearCorrect

What is ClearCorrect®?

Instead of relying on metal brackets and wires to move teeth, ClearCorrect® braces use a series of clear aligners to move teeth into place. The aligners are made of a clear and comfortable plastic that looks similar to a full retainer. By taking care of them and refraining from scratching their surface, aligners will remain clear and virtually invisible when worn.

The aligners are created using an digital or hard impression of your teeth and gums. Once received, the lab will create a series of aligners that start with the current position of your teeth and slowly move them until they are perfectly straight. A patient will wear each aligner for about 2 weeks. Afterward, the patient will replace the old aligner with the next one in the series. The aligners place pressure on specific teeth to gradually move the teeth for a more comfortable experience. By wearing all of the aligners in the series, your teeth will move from crooked to perfectly straight.

ClearCorrect® vs. Traditional Braces

Traditional metal braces are extremely effective for straightening teeth and treating misaligned jaws. While metal braces are more comfortable than they were in the past, they are still noticeable and unfavorable to many. With the wires, brackets, and rubber bands, traditional metal braces can negatively impact the way that a person looks and feels. Many people find that traditional braces are distracting and do not fit into a busy or professional lifestyle.

Simultaneously, metal braces are difficult to keep clean as food can become stuck between the brackets, requiring a special floss to remove the bits of food. We can help patients receive the necessary treatment without having to drastically change their diet or skip out on some of their favorite treats when wearing braces. While only temporary, this can be inconvenient and at times, frustrating. Given the tendency for food to become stuck, those wearing braces, also need to spend more time brushing and flossing throughout the day.

ClearCorrect® is a far more convenient option than other methods for straightening one’s teeth. Patients remove the aligners themselves when eating, so there are no restrictions on which foods you can eat. Patients also do not have to worry about something becoming stuck in the brackets or the embarrassment of feeling awkward while eating. Patients wear ClearCorrect® for at least 22 hours per day, leaving plenty of time to enjoy a romantic dinner, business meeting, or lunch without metal braces ruining one’s confidence. This makes it possible for patients to maintain their current lifestyle without any further restrictions.

Another advantage of ClearCorrect® braces over traditional ones is that patients can remove the aligners while playing sports, a musical instrument or singing in the choir. As a dental office, we recommend that athletes wear a mouth guard during practice or a game. With braces or other teeth-straightening products, this can be an issue. With ClearCorrect®, patients can remove the aligners to wear the mouth guard.

Bonding & Contouring

Sometimes, cosmetic issues can appear drastic, but fixing them may not be complicated. Tooth bonding and contouring are separate but similar procedures designed to improve your smile’s appearance with minor alterations to your teeth. Whether you receive one or both cosmetic procedures, bonding and/or contouring can offer significant smile improvement while allowing you to preserve a maximum amount of healthy tooth structure. Tooth bonding is the application of a biocompatible, tooth-colored composite resin to the outer surface of a tooth. The resin is sculpted and hardened for a lifelike finish, and can correct a variety of cosmetic blemishes by adding to the natural tooth structure. Similarly, contouring can also change the size, shape, and appearance of a tooth, but does so through the gentle sculpting of the tooth’s outer layer of enamel.

Tooth bonding and contouring can be recommended for a number of issues, including stubborn teeth stains, chipped or worn tooth edges, spaces between teeth, rough tooth surfaces, and more. Before recommending bonding or contouring, we will examine your teeth to ensure that they are healthy enough to modify, and that bonding and/or contouring is the most beneficial option.

To perform tooth bonding, we will apply a custom-tinted, tooth-colored composite resin to the tooth surface. After artfully shaping the material, we will then harden and polish the resin for a strong, natural-looking finish. To perform tooth contouring, we will gently sculpt the rough, jagged, or overlapping edge(s) of the tooth, making sure not to alter any unnecessary tooth structure. The procedure is gentle enough that most patients do not require anesthesia, and you should feel minimal or no tooth sensitivity afterwards.

Porcelain Veneers

The Solution for Cracked, Chipped, and Stained Teeth

Veneers are an incredibly versatile cosmetic treatment, perfect for those who wish to correct cosmetic dental flaws. Think of veneers as an ultra-thin natural-colored shell that covers your teeth. This treatment will help correct imperfections such as…

  • Stained teeth
  • Worn or chipped teeth
  • Teeth that are undersize compared to the rest of your mouth
  • Misaligned teeth with small gaps and “black triangles’ near the gums

Veneers aren’t the ideal choice for everyone. If you’re suffering from advanced tooth decay or other dental health issues, our cosmetic dentist may recommend another option like dental implants or natural tooth-colored crowns.
